The death toll from the record-setting heat wave in Oregon grew Thursday to 14 people in six counties, with most of the deaths coming in the Portland metro area.

The latest deaths to be reported were an 87-year-old man who died in Hillsboro, a 73-year-old woman who died in Beaverton, a 27-year-old man who died in Klamath County, a 55-year-old man who died in Jackson County and a 56-year-old man who died in Linn County, according to the state medical examiner.
