A bookkeeper for the Portland chapter of a transportation workers union on Tuesday was sentenced to time served for stealing nearly $190,000 from the union over two years.

Emerald Keever, 40, also was ordered to pay $189,119.48 in restitution to the local chapter of the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation workers union, known as SMART Local 16. The union represents about 2,400 members.
