The Multnomah County Health Department on Tuesday reported the county’s first measles case since 2019. The case is unrelated to the measles clusters recently reported in Clackamas and Marion counties, officials said.

An unvaccinated child – who recently traveled to a country where measles is more common than in the U.S. – was diagnosed with the virus over the weekend, according to a statement from county health spokesperson Sarah Dean.
