Former David Douglas boys basketball coach gets 8 months for sodomy, sex abuse of players

A former David Douglas High School basketball coach was convicted of sex crimes involving two of his players, court records show.

Junior varsity boys basketball coach DaVonte Carter pleaded guilty to third-degree sodomy and entered a no contest plea to one count of second-degree sex abuse in Multnomah County Circuit Court. The 27-year-old had faced a 19-count indictment before striking a plea deal.
