State of Oregon employs nearly 40,000

Oregon’s roughly 38,000 state government workers logged another year of wage growth in 2021, with median pay well above the state’s overall workforce and more employees earning at least $100,000.

National parties, interest groups and wealthy individuals are spending huge sums on Oregon campaigns in the final weeks before Election Day, making $13 million worth of donations of $250,000 or more so far this month.

The collective totals of the quarter-million-and-larger expenditures were roughly split between Democrats and their political allies and Republicans and their allies, according to The Oregonian/OregonLive’s analysis.
