Man found dead on side of I-5 in Clackamas County; homicide investigation underway

A man was found dead on the shoulder of Interstate 5 in Clackamas County on Wednesday, the Oregon State Police said.

Oscar Lizardo Chaidez, 42, of Salem, “was possibly struck by a vehicle,” police said.

Officers responded to a call at 5:43 a.m. Wednesday and arrived near Exit 282 to find Chaidez. The initial investigation and the medical examiner determined that Chaidez “was the victim of a homicide,” Oregon State Police said.

Police have not announced any arrests and said the investigation is ongoing. They provided no further details, and ask anyone with information about the case to contact them at 1-800-452-7888.
