A Multnomah County commissioner Thursday asked the state to intervene in the county’s mental health system, accusing county leaders of failing to provide sufficient services locally, as required under Oregon law.

Sharon Meieran detailed her concerns in a blistering letter to fellow county elected leaders, including Chair Jessica Vega Pederson, as well as Gov. Tina Kotek and a pair of top Oregon behavioral health officials, according to a copy obtained by The Oregonian/OregonLive.
