The first data points on how the strike- and storm-disrupted 2023-24 school year may have impacted academic progress at Portland Public Schools are in, and they are discouraging.

Results from the Measurement of Academic Progress, or MAP, math tests show that just 49% of the district’s students made the expected learning gains over the first six months of the current school year.
