Portland hit 91 on July 4th. The next few days will get worse

Portland International Airport hit 91 degrees on Thursday – clearly higher than normal but just a prelude to what could be a record-setting five days of 100 or 100-plus temperatures.

The Fourth of July was “certainly warm, but nothing too remarkable,” said Chris Burling, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Portland.
