A vigil for a man slain at a Northeast Portland trailer park turned deadly in 2020 when the dead man’s younger brother showed up and shot at the accused killer, missing him and leaving another man dead.

Nearly four years later, Marquise Epps was sentenced to 14 years in state prison after pleading guilty to first-degree manslaughter last month in the death of 52-year-old Jimmy Lee Melton at the Capt’n Jacks trailer park on Oct. 1, 2020, court records show.
