Portland race for mayor draws growing crop of candidates

Portland’s field of mayoral candidates is nearing double digits less than five months before the city holds its first election under a new and dramatically different form of government enacted by voters.

Marshall Runkel, a longtime fixture in city politics and chief of staff to former Commissioner Chloe Eudaly, filed to run Wednesday, becoming the ninth person to wade into the race.
