A former two-sport star at Tigard High School is heading back to the state of Oregon.
After two seasons at Colorado and one at UC Davis, Drew Carter is transferring into the Oregon men’s basketball program, he announced Thursday. Carter spent two years as a quarterback in the Colorado football program and the 2023-24 season focused on basketball as a transfer guard for the Aggies.
Based on his Instagram post, it appears Carter’s sole focus will be basketball when he arrives in Eugene. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound guard played just 22 minutes across nine games for UC Davis this past season, averaging 1.2 points per game.
At Tigard, Carter was a three-star quarterback rated as the No. 5 player in Oregon and No. 28 dual threat quarterback nationally by 247Sports. On the basketball court, he averaged 25 points per game as a junior and was rated the No. 5 player in Oregon. His senior season of sports was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19.
